"How To Get Article Ideas"
© Dallas Franklin

Finding ideas to write an article about can be as easy as paying attention to your daily routines. It's always a good idea to keep paper and pen handy because ideas can be as fleeting as a feather in the wind. You have to write it down then, never later. Trust me, you won't remember later.

If you have the time it's even better to write your article as soon as the idea hits home. Most of your thoughts regarding the subject will immediately start flourishing while you analyze and put it in order. So write it down right there and then if opportunity knocks at an opportune time.

Here are some ideas to get you going. It will probably help you in recognizing your own vast network of creations just waiting to be tapped into. You'll discover that most of your ideas are birthed from other people's ideas. You just expand upon it, and take it down new roads.

Just this morning I got an email from a visitor to my Website who felt the price of an e-book was higher than she expected because it wasn't a printed book. It got me thinking about how writers and/or publishers choose a price for a book.

Should the content of a book be as worthy whether it's printed or digital? I was always of the opinion that the cost factor for a print book should make a difference in price. But I also remembered just a couple of months ago spending 39.00 for an e-book that I felt was worth every penny because of the valuable information it contained.

Searching out both sides to this question would be a good article. Just from an email!

Later I was watching television with its endless commercials and got to thinking about the stupidity of some of the ads. Do marketers really think we consumers are stupid? Do they show us unrealistic ads because we buy anyways? Have we become brain-dead in such an informational world where things are just accepted and never thought out? Questions that you can pursue in a number of article ideas.

What about health? Have you tried something new that you'd like to share with others? Is there a homeopathic remedy that works wonderfully and you can't wait to tell every-one? Do old wives remedies work better than a prescription drug you were given, or over the counter drug? Have the pharmaceutical companies gone overboard in their zealous attempt to make us more drug users?

See how the questions just bring in a whole new arena of ideas.

Actually I think emails bring all kinds of good ideas. They can come from people asking you a question about something they feel you are an expert. We may not all be experts but we all do carry a lot of valuable information around with us. You just might be surprised at all you do know.

Anything that is of interest to you and you focus upon has to become imbedded upon your mind so effectively that you would appear to be an expert in that field. So don't let the term 'expert' scare you away from all the things you truly are knowledgeable about. Chances are that you already have an interest in the topic. If you don't have the answer, it'll be fun finding it.

Just sit down and write all the things in your life.

You could do it in sections such as: Personal, Work, Hobbies, Children/No Children, Married/Not, Religion/Spirituality, Family, Sports, Entertainment, etc. The list can go on and on. Once you get your list started it'll automatically begin a chain of reaction in the idea department. Try it just for fun! You'll be amazed at all the ideas that come bouncing in.

When you tie in the daily ideas with your personal knowledge you'll have a large selection to choose. Don't even think you'll run out of ideas. It just won't happen. Instead you'll find the article idea list just gets bigger every day. And when you are wondering what to write about next, check over your list and write!
