If you did the simple exercise,
great. If you're too busy to do it
now, wait until you have the time before you read the rest of this.
Yeah, I do have a good reason for you doing the little 'mind'
exercise and then read the remainder of
this, ok?
When you've finished reading this, I want you take your new found
'Success' knowledge and do some concentrated and realistic thinking
about your sub-conscious vision of success...
"Success"...
It's a such a little word, isn't it? Only 7 innocent letters. But in
mankind's pursuit of this 1 small word, people have lost forever
relationships with their loved ones from lack of attention and care.
Other people have damaged their health, lied,
cheated, denied their spiritual being, and have risked their very
life - all in the name of having what they considered Success".
Yet, more people than will ever admit to it, have killed years and
wasted bushel baskets of money, in the fruitless search of the often
promised 'Secrets To Success' - only to come up empty-handed!
IF you never, ever, listen to me again, take the following 'Secret To
Success' knowledge with you for the rest of your life:
"Friend, There Ain't No Secret To Success!"
There. You now have the whole truth about success. You may not want,
or accept the truth. But 'truth' don't care. It's the truth anyway.
It's sorta like the reason your body is able to
remain on this Earth, instead of spinning off into outer space -
gravity keeps you planted here.
You don't have to believe in gravity, do you? The truth of how gravity
works - keeps you here - whether you accept it or not.
On the other hand...
There are things you already have some knowledge about.
You may not know every principle involved, or the each available
method to implement the principles, but you do know enough to take the
first step...
When you're in such a situation, you won't really know how to take
advantage of your knowledge because you haven't yet tested your
present knowledge with personal action.
From observations of my own life and by watching others, I'm convinced
you can't successfully learn deeper principles until you've acted on
faith to test the barest basic principles of any situation.
Like my Grandpop, Oscar Palmer, used to say,
"Don't worry about
what might happen. Just start with what you know and the 'job'
will tell you what to do next."
On many occasions, I've proven he was right, as he usually was.
Before I built my first house, I went to building contractor school,
took the county and state contractor's battery of tests and got a
contractor's license.
I already owned a beautiful building plat. I'd laid out, staked and
stringed the building footprint. After two tries, I had my building
plans approved by the township's board, so I was ready to build...
But, I didn't start building.
Nope, I proceeded to read every 'how to' building book I could get my
hands on. I checked out everything our local libraries had on housing
construction. Then I bought, or rented and studied housing
construction videos.
Heck, I even started stopping at building sites and asking endless
questions about the end's and out's of building.
It's smart to do your research. It's wise to learn from others who are
already doing it. But there comes a time when you have to leap out in
faith and take the first step.
Although I told myself I was doing my due diligence, in actuality I
wanted assurance I wouldn't make any mistakes... even before I got
started.
Life doesn't work like that...
And I was getting nowhere with my building career. Finally, I got
embarrassed enough from answering "When ya gonna get that first house
built?"
I just started doing it. I took the first step. I was plenty scared.
But you know what? A major portion of the knowledge I'd worked so hard
to get, didn't fit my situation.
Once again my Grandpop was right,
"Don't worry about what might happen. Just start with what you know
and the 'job' will tell you what to do next."
Life rewards action. Life rewards faith. Life rewards those who
persist. Life rewards those who take the first step. Life does not
reward knowing everything before you get started...
Which is always impossible...
Until you take the first step, you can never truly know the next step.
And you can never 'know' anything - until you know it on a cellular
level because you've done the thing itself.
The workings of gravity aren't a secret to a physicist because they
know gravity's principles.
Likewise, success has principles.
Having read thus far, you might assume the 1st success principle is
action. If this is so...
